Royal Street Red Beans

A classic New Orleans-style red beans dish made with dried red beans, andouille sausage, and traditional Cajun seasonings, slowly cooked to creamy perfection. Perfect served over rice with a dash of hot sauce.

Ingredients

  • •1 lb dried red beans
  • •1 whole white onion
  • •2 stalks celery
  • •4 cloves garlic
  • •1 lb andouille sausage
  • •1 whole ham hock
  • •3 whole bay leaves
  • •½ tsp Creole seasoning
  • •½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • •6 cups water
  • •2 whole green onions
  • •to taste hot sauce

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1.

    Add all ingredients except for green onions and hot sauce to the slow cooker and stir.

    Cook on low heat for 8 hours.

    Before serving, remove bay leaves and garnish with green onions. Season with hot sauce or a splash of seasoned vinegar, if desired.
